I just finished ASTB. Reading it was a real challenge at first because my native language is German and I had a hard time with the language of the book, but I got used to it and loved it. I can already quote whole passages! And I'm determined now to read up on the historical events involved because I don't know much about 1915/16, as I have to confess.
I don't think I need to tell anyone here how amazing this book is. I cried all the way through the last dozen pages, just - just - guh, words fail me.
However, I do have a question on something: did Jim actually sleep with McMurrough when he stayed at Eva's house and undressed for him? I thought at first that he did, but didn't he tell Doyler that he never did anything with McMurrough? I'm a bit confused, which is probably to blame on the language barrier.
Anyway, I think I'll have to whip out my watercolours once I've got a bit of time to breathe again and then get some fanart going.
